I would be happy to provide support at short notice, if I was free at the time needed.
I moved to Dumfries two years ago from Liverpool to join my long term partner.
I have always worked in social care as a support worker, occupational therapy assistant, social worker and most recently as an advocate. I’ve also supported close relatives with dementia, in helping them organise their lives and in keeping up activities they enjoyed and valued. I currently volunteer with the Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service.
I’m interested in and value people. The parts of my work which I’ve enjoyed the most have been in offering support and working alongside people. I believe I have a friendly approach, am a good listener and am easy to get on with. I pride myself on being reliable.
I have a lot of interests including creative writing, history, cinema, cycling and cooking.
I’m able to offer support with personal care if required, everyday activities, support with shopping, attending social events and activities, driving, etc.
I enjoy taking up opportunities for training and can do this through the Personal Assistant Network. I’m open to any specific training that may necessary.
